Description

BIO 2004 Human Anatomy and Physiology I with Lab (4 Credit Hours) This course is the first semester of a two-part series entitled Human Anatomy and Physiology. It is intended for biology majors pursuing careers in Physical Therapy, Physician's Assistant, etc. It is required for students majoring in Physical Education/Athletic Training. After a review of basic concepts of chemistry, cell biology, and tissues, the skeletal and muscular systems are discussed, followed by an analysis of the cardiovascular and nervous systems. The relationship between structure and function are stressed. The lecture sessions conclude with a discussion of health and nutrition. Labs (BIO 2000) involve cat dissections, plus computer sessions using CD ROM programs such as ADAM, for human anatomy. Prerequisite: BIO 1103 with lab; BIO 1113 with lab Availability: Fall
