Description

BIO 2024 Fundamentals of Anatomy & Physiology I (4 Credit Hours) This course is the first semester of a two-part series entitled Anatomy and Physiology. It is required for students entering the School of Nursing or the Athletic Training Program. After a study of the basic concepts of chemistry, cell biology, and tissues, the following systems are covered: integumentary, skeletal, muscular, and nervous. There will be an emphasis on the relationship between the structure and the function. The course will also cover the reasoning behind typical practical procedures performed in many of the health fields. The laboratory sessions include specimen dissections, microscopic examinations, and the use of anatomical models. This course is not accepted as a biology major elective. Availability: Fall/Spring
