Description

BIO 3034 Human Anatomy & Physiology I (4 Credit Hours) This course is the first semester of a two-part series entitled Human Anatomy & Physiology. This course is designed for Biology majors or students who are pursuing careers that will require admission and study in medical school, dental school, physical therapy, or the School of Pharmacy. There will be a short review of the basic concepts of chemistry, cell biology, and tissues. Students who are entering this course are required to have prior knowledge of these areas of study, as well as, a prior knowledge of the human organ systems. The organ systems that are covered in the first semester are: integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, and endocrine. Aging, disease, stress, growth, and development will be addressed through many structural levels of organization and through the eleven organ systems. There will be an emphasis on the molecular and cellular aspects of function within the human body. The lab sessions include specimen
