Description

BIO 3053 Molecular Biology
3 Credit Hours
This course is a study of DNA and DNA analysis. Primary emphasis is on the molecular basis of heredity. Foundational topics covered in the course are the structure of DNA and RNA, DNA replication and recombination, the storage and expression of genetic information via protein applications, genomic organization of DNA and the regulation of gene expression.
Prerequisite: C- or above in BIO 3103 and 3101; or permission of instructor.
Corequisite: BIO 3152
