Description
BIO 3054 Molecular Biology with Lab (4 Credit Hours)
This course is a study of DNA and DNA analysis. Primary emphasis is on the molecular basis of heredity. Foundational topics covered in the course are the structure of DNA and RNA, DNA replication and recombination, the storage and expression of genetic information via protein synthesis, and the molecular basis of mutation. Advanced topics include recombinant DNA technology and applications, genomic organization of DNA, and the regulation of gene expression. Students enrolling in the class must also enroll in the corresponding lab (BIO 3050).
