BIO 3114 Genetics with Lab 4 Credit Hours
Genetics is an introduction to the study of inheritance and genetic analysis. This course covers DNA structure and function, transmission genetics including modified Mendelian ratios, mitosis and meiosis, linkage and genetic mapping, sex determination and related inheritance patterns, chromosomes and chromosomal variation, and statistical applications to genetics. Extranuclear inheritance, quantitative inheritance, population genetics and evolutionary genetics also are discussed. Students enrolling in this course must also enroll in the corresponding lab (BIO 3110).
Prerequisite: BIO 1043 or BIO 1113; BIO 3104 recommended
