Description

4 Credit Hour(s) Costa Rica is home to 5% of the world's biodiversity, with 25% of the country set aside as protected areas. This course examines the varying landscape and biota of Costa Rica such as the montane cloud forest, tropical rain forest, and coastal marine habitats. Topics include; geography, geology, and biology of tropical systems. This course includes participation in a required field-intensive university organized trip to biological field stations and select locations in Costa Rica.

Prerequisite: BIO 1043 and BIO 1041 or BIO 1103 and BIO 1101
