Description

EDU 5053 Teaching Elementary Reading and Language Arts (3 Credit Hours) An introduction to theories of linguistic and cognitive development and their implications for developing reading abilities of elementary school students. The relationship between language development and reading ability will be discussed and related to developing appropriate teaching/ learning approaches. 16 instructional contact hours of Field Experience in a local elementary school. Required. (This is not an observation experience) Prerequisite : Pass First screening or an ELP student Availability: Fall
