This course applies prior knowledge from the liberal arts, sciences, and humanities to basic nursing concepts. These concepts and the nursing process are applied to promote wellness across the lifespan, although emphasis is placed on the theoretical components for the older adult population. This course will provide the student with the foundation necessary to provide safe, patient-centered care as part of the healthcare team. Critical thinking is developed as a component in decision-making in the provision of culturally sensitive patient care.
Meets HHP 1061 Requirements.

Prerequisite: Admission to Upper-Division Nursing Program
Prerequisite or Corequisite: NUR 2003; BIO 2291/BIO 2293; BIO 2501/BIO 2503; PSY 2183
