NUR 3104 - Fundamentals of Nursing: Theory

This course applies prior knowledge from the liberal arts, sciences, and humanities to basic nursing care and builds upon nursing concepts from previous nursing courses. The General System Theory is applied through the nursing process as the methodology used to promote wellness across the lifespan. This course will provide the student with the concepts of fundamental nursing necessary for safe delivery of patient-centered care. The foundation of critical thinking and decision making in the provision of culturally sensitive patient care is introduced. Emphasis is placed on the theoretical components for the older adult population. Meets HHP 1061 Requirements.
Prerequisite: NUR 2003, NUR 2013, NUR 2023; Admission to Upper-Division Nursing Program
Corequisite: NUR 3112
