This is part two of a two course sequence providing a basis for the generalist graduate nurse. The concepts of health promotion, disease prevention, and disease process from NUR 3343 Medical Surgical Nursing I: Theory are further developed and applied to diverse adult and older adult populations and their affected families with the Medical-Surgical clinical setting. This course incorporates pathophysiological and pharmacological principles from NUR 3013 and NUR 3043. The nursing process guides care for potential, acute, and chronic health care problems and wellness promotion.

Prerequisite: NUR 3343; NUR 3352; NUR 3013; NUR 3223
Corequisite: NUR 3043; NUR 3412
