NUR 4003 - Medical-Surgical Nursing II: Theory
3 Credit Hour(s)
This course is the second of three Medical-Surgical theory courses that provide a basis for the generalist graduate nurse. This course builds on concepts from NUR 3343. The concepts of health promotion, disease prevention, and disease process for diverse adult and older adult populations and their affected families are reinforced. The material presented in this course includes a higher acuity and will prepare the senior level student for the final Medical-Surgical nursing course. The nursing process, based on the General System Theory, will be used to guide care for potential, acute, and chronic health care problems as well as the promotion of wellness.
Prerequisite: NUR 3343, NUR 3352, NUR 3233, NUR 3242
Corequisite: NUR 4012
