Description

NUR 4133 Complex Nursing: Clinical 3 Credit Hours Implements complex and critical care concepts and advanced technical skills. Applies the nursing process, based on General System Theory, to individuals and families experiencing acute and complex care needs. Critical thinking skills are refined as the specific needs of adults with acute and critical systems stressors, which may be life threatening, are considered. The focus is on the advanced beginner nursing care of adult patients although the family and community systems are also included. Ethical and end-of-life issues specific to the critical care environment are explored. Provides experience in the complex nursing care of clients in step-down units, intensive care units, and emergency departments. Prerequisites: NUR 3203, 3223, 3303, 3313, 3323, 3332 Corequisite: NUR 4123 Availability: Fall
