Finding outside scholarships can be hard work, but the payoff is great! It is important to know where to begin on your journey to find additional funding for college.

  1. First, explore your community. Does your hometown have clubs, organizations, community foundations, fire departments, police departments, or churches that award scholarships? It never hurts to ask! Many organizations give scholarship money to students from local high schools, and often these opportunities are not advertised. Read the 20 Ways to Find College Scholarships. To read this you will need to log in with your SALT account. If you don't have one you can sign up for a free account.
  2. Next, check out the page below for scholarship opportunities recommended by us. Also, create an account on scholarship search web services (see list below). Creating an account can help you find scholarships that match your eligibility!
  3. Apply, apply, apply! After all, that is the secret to winning scholarships. Read The Secret to Winning Scholarships.

Have you been awarded an outside scholarship?

If so, congratulations! Your next step is to inform our office about the funds you will be receiving. If your scholarship funds will not arrive at PBA before payment is due, please provide us a letter from the scholarship organization stating the amount they will be sending and if the scholarship should be applied to the Fall semester, the Spring semester, or split between both semesters. If a semester is not specified, the scholarship will automatically be split between Fall and Spring. If you have already received a scholarship check, you can mail it to us or stop by the Financial Aid Office so it can be applied to your account. Please mail all scholarship letters and checks to the following address:

Palm Beach Atlantic University Financial Aid Office
Attn: John LaSorsa
P.O. Box 24708
West Palm Beach, FL 33416-4708

All students are encouraged to apply for outside scholarships. Numerous resources are available online. Please take advantage of the opportunities listed below.
