Description

ORL 5043 Research Methods (3 Credit Hours) The course will examine the role of the practitioner-researcher and provide an environment in which to understand clearly the relationship between practice, practical knowledge and theory. The course will examine the nature of research practice, reflective practice, and practical knowledge. The use of documentary evidence forms a link between qualitative and the quantitative research and that linkage will be explored through theory and application, which will link to the process from practice to theory and from theory to practice. Such practice-based research will give rise to personalized theories of practice and also raise new questions for organizational leadership exploration. The coursework will provide organizational leaders with a different way of examining the application of research, the relevancy of research, and the analytical approach to the complex relationship of research into the world of work and workplace.
