To apply for Direct Subsidized/Unsubsidized loans you must first complete the FAFSA. Once you successfully file the FAFSA you will need to complete the Loan Entrance Counseling session and Master Promissory Note (MPN) to accept the loans in your financial aid offer. The current interest rate for 2021-2022 is 3.73%. Please note that Direct Subsidized loans do not start to accrue interest until after a student’s six month grace period has expired.

The current origination fee for 2021-2022 is 1.057%. The origination fee is a percentage of your loan amount charged by the lender for the processing of your loan. The amount disbursed will be slightly lower than the amount you accept.
