Decal Pick-up: Decals will be available for pickup at the Public Safety Office during regular business hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

 

FREE U-Bolts are available at the Public Safety Office when registering your bicycle.

One free U-Bolt is permitted per student at the time of registration, availability permitting.

 

Please provide the color, make, model, and serial number of your bicycle. All bicycles manufactured after 1968 have been issued a serial number that can be found underneath the bike pedal mount. Typically, you will need to flip the bike over to see this identification number. Please provide this number in the VIN section of the registration page. Please take a picture of your bike from the front and side and keep these photos easily accessible on your phone. Bicycles must be secured using a U-Bolt Bike lock as they provide enhanced security against theft. Please secure your bicycle to a bike rack on campus. Bicycles not secured using a U-Bolt or not securing it to a bike rack may be cited or confiscated.

Electric Bikes: Please note that eBikes (and other battery-powered mobility options) must have UL certification for their battery unit(s). As a safety precaution, eBikes are not permitted in University structures, including classrooms and residence halls. Please visit the Public Safety office if you have any questions or concerns regarding your vehicle's UL certification.

 

 

Motorcycles and Scooters

Decal Pick-up: Decals will be available for pickup at the Public Safety Office during regular business hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

 

Owners of Motorcycles and Motorized Scooters are required to register for a free parking permit to park on campus. Please provide the vehicle’s color, make, model, and VIN (Vehicle Identification Number). A valid license plate and current registration are required.

Motorcycles: Motorcycles are given a small decal that should be affixed near the license plate. Please take a picture of your motorcycle from the front and side and keep these photos easily accessible on your phone. Motorcycle parking is found in the Dixie Parking Garage, on the first floor, and alongside Wallingford Place (outside the Greene Complex). Parking alongside a building is prohibited, and any violator will be cited.

Motorized Scooters: Scooters are given a small decal that should be affixed near the license plate or on the rear fender. Scooter parking is found in the Dixie Parking Garage, on the first floor, and alongside Wallingford Place (outside the Greene Complex). Please take a picture of your motorized scooter from the front and side and keep these photos easily accessible on your phone. Parking alongside a building is prohibited, and any violator will be cited. For scooters that do not have any license plate issued, please use your PBA ID as your license plate. Scooters do have a VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), and that identification will need to be provided.

 

Skateboards and Longboards

Decal Pick-up: Decals will be available for pickup at the Public Safety Office during regular business hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

 

Skateboarding and longboarding can be enjoyable and efficient ways to get around campus, but it is crucial to follow the guidelines and prioritize safety.

By registering your skateboard or longboard, you contribute to a safer campus environment while enjoying the convenience of getting around on wheels.

 

Skateboarding is prohibited in all buildings on PBA property. Skateboarding is permitted solely for transportation purposes between buildings under the following conditions:

  • Skaters must yield to all pedestrians and vehicles.
  • Skaters may not damage any property.
  • Skaters must travel at a safe speed, may not do any jumping, may not ride over or jump steps or curbs, and must remain on smooth paved surfaces.

 

Decal Registration: Register your skateboard or longboard by providing your contact information and skateboard/longboard details. This includes the color, make, and any unique identifiers (if applicable).

Decal Placement: Once registered, you will receive a small decal that should be affixed to your skateboard or longboard. Please ensure the decal is prominently displayed for easy identification.

Parking Guidelines: Leaving skateboards and longboards in non-designated areas or obstructing pathways may result in citations or confiscation of the skateboard/longboard.

Photo Documentation: Take photos of your skateboard or longboard from different angles and keep them accessible on your phone. In the event of loss or theft, these photos will aid in identification and recovery.

Safety First: Always prioritize safety when using skateboards and longboards on campus. Adhere to traffic rules, yield to pedestrians, and wear appropriate safety gear, such as helmets and knee pads.
