If approved for post-completion OPT, students are still considered to be in F-1 status for the duration of the authorization (12 months).

  1. Once the application is submitted to the USCIS, how can I check the status of my case?

You can log into your USCIS account to review any updates to your application. An official receipt (I-797) will also be mailed including a receipt number.

  5. What is the next step after I secure employment?
