PREPARE

Gather all documents needed to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The 2024-2025 FAFSA requires your 2022 tax information.

COMPLETE

The FAFSA opens October 1 of every year. We strongly encourage you to complete the FAFSA as early as possible to ensure that you have enough time to complete any missing financial aid documents or make any necessary financial plans for the upcoming school year.

REVIEW

Once you have submitted your FAFSA you will receive your FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS). If necessary, make corrections to your FSS so that the most accurate information is reported.

RESPOND

Once our office receives your FAFSA we will begin to package you with the financial aid you are eligible to receive. This process generally takes 2-3 weeks to complete and is dependent on all financial aid documents being submitted. You will receive an email once your financial aid offer is ready to be viewed.

RECEIVE

Your aid will be disbursed after the Office of the Registrar completes enrollment verification each semester. Your aid will first be applied to your tuition, fees, and miscellaneous charges. Any remaining aid on your account will be credit balance or refund. You will receive your refund approximately one month after classes have started.

  • This is dependent on course enrollment - please contact our office for more information.

RENEW

You will need to renew your FAFSA application before the beginning of each academic year. One academic year includes Fall, Spring, and Summer.

Tackling the FAFSA

You are not authorized to use this portlet; It is only available to users in certain roles within the portal.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid
Use the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form to apply for financial aid for college or graduate school.

FAFSA Renewal
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form applies to a single academic year. That means you need to submit a FAFSA form each year.

Documents Needed
The FAFSA questions ask for information about you (your name, date of birth, address, etc.) and about your financial situation. Depending on your circumstances (for instance, whether you’re a U.S. citizen or what tax form you used), you might need to gather information or documents as you fill out the application.

Student Aid Report
Your Student Aid Report (SAR) is a paper or electronic document that gives you some basic information about your eligibility for federal student aid as well as listing your answers to the FAFSA questions.
